Program structure

Live online sessions

Activities include: Mediation demonstrations; practice, review and large-group discussion of mediation stages, sample agreements, practice responding to instructor-led ‘What If’ Scenarios, and other potential dynamics during a mediation.

About The Trainers

Linda W. Hall (She/Her) & James R. Meditz (He/Him), MA

Linda W. Hall is a Supreme Court of Virginia certified mentor mediator. Her company, L.Hall And Co., LLC, provides alternative dispute resolution services, including mediation, arbitration, and conflict resolution and diversity training. In addition to NVMS CRC, she is a lead mediator in the Federal Shared Neutrals Program and a mediator for the Multi-Door Dispute Resolution Division of the District of Columbia Superior Court. Linda is a retired member of the Federal Senior Executive Service. She is a member of the Virginia Mediation Network. She is an associate member of the American Bar Association and Dispute Resolution Section. Ms. Hall received special training in EEO matters and is Safe Zone Trained.

James R. Meditz, MA is a Supreme Court of Virginia certified mentor mediator. He also provides services as a facilitator, instructor/trainer, consultant, and conflict management coach for diverse clients, including cases before Virginia courts; parties in employment and EEO disputes, and commercial and community entities. He is a current member and past president of the Virginia Mediation Network (VMN), and an Associate Member of the American Bar Association and Dispute Resolution Section. In addition to the Northern Virginia Mediation Service, he is on the rosters of colleagues’ organizations and federal agencies. Mr. Meditz has a Master of Arts in International Relations, Boston University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He is a graduate of the National War College, (National Defense University, Washington, DC) and the Federal Executive Institute (Charlottesville, VA). He received special training in Problem Solving in Organizations, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and EEO matters, family business issues, conflict coaching, and in management and other subjects during his federal career.
