Ben Jacewicz, J.D.

About The Trainer

Ben Jacewicz is an attorney, Supreme Court of Virginia certified mediator mentor, and a member of the mediation panel for the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit for the Virginia State Bar Fee Dispute Resolution Program. He teaches negotiation as an adjunct faculty member at the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University, and previously taught negotiation and mediation as an adjunct faculty member at the American University Washington College of Law. Ben currently serves an Assistant County Attorney in the Office of the County Attorney for Fairfax County, Virginia. His work includes litigating employment and civil rights cases in federal and state court, representing the County in administrative proceedings, counseling County agencies on personnel issues, and participating in contract negotiations on behalf of the County’s pension plans. He also has provided in-house training on the County’s grievance process and on being a witness in court. Prior to joining the County, Ben was an associate with several private law firms in Washington, D.C. He also was a law clerk for a U.S. District Court Judge and a U.S. Circuit Court Judge. Ben earned his undergraduate degree at Duke University, M.P.A. at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, and law degree at the University of Virginia School of Law.
